Server Philosophy

The Bottom Line Network is a open-fantasy roleplay server that prioritizes freedom of choice for the player. Mostly driven by improvised stories, every player enters as a blank page and leaves with a canvas. Focusing on Collaborative World Building, everything is made through interaction. Staff Members serve through Alternative accounts to keep the separation between Playing the Server and Duties to the Server. While allowing the story to be held in the palm of the Player.

The World Listens, and it Remembers.

Key Game Mechanics

  • Scrolls and Knowledge: Scrolls represent recorded knowledge of elements, there are Secret Scrolls in the world which can be copied, traded, stolen, or destroyed. Access to scrolls is controlled through lore, discovery, and role play.

  • Elementals: Characters align with an Element: Fire, Water, Air, Earth, and Chi. These affect combat and how other character’s perspective towards you.

  • Custom Enchants: Ancient texts can be found through NPC’s, and Exploration. Enchantments alter combat and survival interactions, sometimes these may carry narrative consequences.

  • Diseases: Diseases can be found from traveling recklessly, they require treatments, Checkups from NPCs, or Finding out how to create the Remedy through Interactions.

  • NPCs: We use NPC’s actively in the setting, not only for background characters but they spread rumors, offer opportunities, and deal Justice.

  • Newsletter: Keeps Public Record of character actions which can affect the narrative.

  • Dueling: Duels are agreed terms, witnesses, and have a clear result. This is the fighting system and has in story consequences.

  • War System: Large conflicts are handled through a war system, they are declared in roleplay because of political or territorial causes. They are resolved through Battles, Sieges, Diplomacy and Consequences.

  • Building and Preservation: Approved Builds may be pasted, or restored to maintain immersion.

  • Detective Work: The world remembers. Through character investigations, you can use Core Protect to uncover thefts, sabotage, arson, or murder. You can gather evidence, or become a witness.

  • World Map: There’s a dedicated web page which shows the world map which tracks nations.
